City Girl in Cunnamulla

When I told everyone that I accepted a position in Cunnamulla there were many looks of confusion; I used Google Maps to address this!

Hello everyone! I’m Chloe and I recently moved from Brisbane to Cunnamulla for a nursing position—yep, 9 hrs 48 min or 804.4 km drive from Brisbane.

When I told everyone that I accepted a position in Cunnamulla there were many looks of confusion; I used Google Maps to address this!

Tough decision

This was an incredibly difficult decision to make; it’s my first move out of home! But I received a massive amount of encouragement from my friends and family which gave me the confidence to commit to this decision.

Why Cunnamulla?

Why a drastic move like this? Well, the cost of living and the commitment of full-time study were incentives to stay at home with my parents until I graduated. But I wanted a change in my life, and a change in lifestyle. My passion for my hobbies was also slowly decreasing.

I’m here

So here I am, taking advantage of the free Wi-Fi at the Roma McDonald’s to start this blog.

I arrived in Cunnamulla on Friday 12 of February to drop of my belongings. Left, Cunnamulla on Saturday, headed to Charleville to drop my father off at the airport and now I am in Roma for a week of orientation.

In total I have done approximately 15 hours of driving and counting. I start my first day of orientation tomorrow which is a little nerve racking.

Take the journey with me

I look forward to sharing my experiences with you. I will keep you posted on my next installment… orientation week and my start in Cunnamulla.
